Hi Somadila, meta-analysis is a form of analysing systematic reviews especially if the various literature in that systematic review are quantitative.
All meta-analysis studies are systematic reviews BUT all systematic reviews are not meta-analyses.
There are other forms that can be used for analysis systematic reviews e.g. thematic analysis.
So when you see meta-analysis, know it’s a systematic review involving quantitative studies.
Even some systematic reviews of quantitative studies are not analyzed using meta-analysis.
To use it, the studies have to be somewhat similar and on the same basis. For e.g, imagine combining obesity prevalence from a BMI study and a waist-circumference study.
You’ll get results, but it’s best to use studies that all used BMI
